Villa Mattielli, Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 2013

Out of stock

Villa Mattielli is a family-owned estate located in the hills of eastern of Verona, Italy. The 30ha of vineyards, some of which date back to 1900s, has a mild climate and a good sun exposure. It is currently managed by the fourth generation winemaker, Roberta, aided by her husband Giacomo and her sister Valeria. This Amarone has an intense ruby-garnet colour and aromas of dried fruit, tobacco and spices plus notes of wild berries and cherries in alcohol. It’s complex, full-bodied and well-balanced palate, with notes of prunes and soft tannins. Delicate earthy fragrance and delightful bitter cocoa aftertaste. This is a 60% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta blend. Leave open for an hour before serving. Being a Amarone Riserva, it has to be aged for at least four years under the rules – this one has spent two in barrel and the rest in bottle.
