Collection: Orange Wine

What is orange wine?

Orange wine, or skin-contact white wine, is made by fermenting white grapes with their skins, just like red wines. This process gives the wine a distinctive amber or orange colour and adds tannins and structure, which are usually found in red wines. The longer the skins stay in contact with the juice, the more intense the flavour and colour. As a result, orange wines often have a unique taste profile with earthy, fruity, and sometimes nutty flavours, with pithy tannins. This style of wine has been gaining popularity in recent years, but the orange wines have existed as long as winemaking itself!
