Jose Antonio Garcia, Godello de Valtuille, Vinyas Viejas

This wine is 100% Godello. The vines here are located in Abajo above the village on the oldest plot, more than 120 years old. The fruit is gently pressed into demi muid and one egg, where it’s left to ferment and undergo MLF. It’s racked once prior to a 14 month ageing. The result is a wine of exceptional complexity, depth and balance. The nose has fresh rhubarb, custard and white peach and floral chamomile notes, while the palate is saline, lean and racy, evolving as it finishes with a watercolour impression of the aromatics lingering for an age.
