Vineyard: Harrobia is Jade Gross’s first estate-bottled Tempranillo, Rioja. The grapes come from her La Cantera plot in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa: 36-year-old bush vines planted in clay–limestone soils at around 600m elevation.
Winemaking: The grapes were hand-harvested. Fermentation is done in open vats with indigenous yeasts, and the wine spends 12 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: On the nose, it offers red and black fruit, sour cherry and wild berry, with floral notes and mineral lift. The palate is firm but graceful: fine-tuned tannins, bright acidity, and a tension between fruit and structure that gives the finish clarity and length. Only 1,790 bottles were made, making Harrobia a rare expression of modern, site-driven Rioja.
