Tasting Notes: A cool climate, high altitude, unoaked Chardonnay from family vineyards. It exhibits a perfume of citrus, apple, and white peach. On the palate is fresh, it is a vibrant Chardonnay with lively acidity, good concentration, rich and long. It has a bright yellow colour, a fresh and persistent palate, with tropical notes at the beginning that become citrusy towards the end of the palate.
Winemaking: In the foothills of Monjardin Mountain, family vineyards are grown under continental climate and get 600 litres of rainfall per year and snowfall in the wintertime. They are protected by the northern mountains and Pyrenees, that reduces the influence from the Atlantic Ocean and allows them to have a unique microclimate at 650 meters altitude that makes it stable with few variations through vintages to keep best quality every year.
The terroir is made from clay soils with ferratus giving an special red colour to their soils. With not much depth, the vineyards develop roots slowly with low yields. This provides their wines with intense expression, good acidity and balanced structure. Monjardin Valley grows exceptional Chardonnays, sparkling wines and gran reservas that reflect the uniqueness of their terroir.
