Winemaker: Bodegas Frontonio is the passion project of Fernando Mora MW and oenologist Mario López. The winery is named after Saint Frontonio, the Patron Saint of the village. According to legend, Frontonio was beheaded by the Romans, his head found upstream after it had been thrown into the Ebro. Going against the current is at the heart of this project, hence the name Frontonio.

Tasting Notes: Bright wild strawberry, violet, and redcurrant, with subtle layers of garrigue that lend depth and complexity. The wine has a refreshing zip of acidity and a subtle, earthy minerality. The tannins are silky yet provide incredible structure, combined with the crisp acidity and vibrant core.

Winemaking: Dry-farmed and hand-harvested Garnacha sourced from vines that are upto 50 years old. The wine is made in a garage and aged in underground cement for 10 months. Botijo, is a simple clay vessel that cools water naturally and is used by grape growers to quench their thirst.

Food Pairing: Try with traditional Spanish dishes, pasta or rice dishes. Especially good with pork.
