Viñedo de los Vientos, Anarkia Tannat

The property has been in the Fallabrino family since 1947; winemaker Pablo Fallabrino produces quality-driven wines in small quantities utilising a modern winery in Uruguay but at the same time continues to explore forgotten, old or lesser known winemaking techniques. Viñedo de los Vientos translates into Vineyard of the Winds and is located where the river Plate estuary and the Atlantic Ocean meet, providing cool ocean breezes and an ideal climate for the maturation of grapes. The Tannat grapes are handpicked from sustainably farmed (soon to be certified organic) vineyards. It’s a deep purple colour, with black olive and dark berry fruits to the fore on the nose and palate with a firm yet supple tannic structure and fresh acidity. It’s ideal for dishes with red meat, game and casseroles.
