- Wine Type
Schloss Vaux has been making top class traditional method Deutscher Sekt (German sparkling wine) for 150 years and is renowned as one of Germany’s finest sparkling wine estates. Founded in 1868 at Chateau Vaux near Metz, the family was forced to relocate after the first world war to their current home in Eltville on the Rhine. The estate’s own vineyards are in the Rheingau and fruit is also sourced from exceptional vineyard locations including the Pfalz. This sparkling Riesling is very typical of the variety, extremely pure, crisp and elegant with subtle honey notes in the finish. 15 months on the lees gives it added complexity. It’s made in the traditional method, or Traditionelle Flaschengärung as it’s known in Germany.
