Polgoon, Sauvignon Blanc 2019

In 2016 John Coulson, owner and winemaker at Polgoon, planted 2,500 Sauvignon Blanc vines in the vineyard at Penzance. It’s quite different from other Sauvignons – it’s not like a French or New Zealand variety – it has unique characteristics of its own, which means it can only be described as wonderfully Cornish. It won a gold medal at the Independent English Wine Awards in 2019 and the judges described it as “Lovely elegant nose, floral, white flower. White pepper spice, floral fleshy fruit, really lovely wine”.
