Mastroberardino, Falanghina del Sannio, Campania
- Bottle Size
- Wine Type
This Falanghina from Mastroberardino comes from their Apice estate in Campania and is mainly located on volcanic, sandy loam soils with a predominantly southeast exposure and an average altitude of 350m. It’s a straw yellow colour with hints of green. It’s fresh and fruity with strong aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, peach, banana and white flowers. The tropical fruit really come through on the palate. Drink with fish and shellfish soups, seafood and shellfish or grilled and baked white fish. It’s thought that the name for the Falanghina grape comes from the Latin “falangae”, and refers to the poles which were used to support the vine’s canopy in previous generations.
