Marc Deschamps, Les Porcheronnes, Pouilly-Fumé 2017
- Bottle Size
- Wine Type
This cuvee is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc grapes from several sites scattered on the hilltop of Les Loges, specifically “La Cote”, and “Les Griottes”. These are some of the younger vines of the estate, now averaging 30 years of age. Combined with this is a 2ha site on clay-limestone soil. This is the most elegant and sprightly of the quartet of Pouilly Fumes produced by Deschamps.
From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “It’s quite rich, intense, powerful and firmly structured, very grippy Sancerre with a fully ripe yet piquant and zesty fruit texture and a very good length, with limes, cumquats and crushed rocks. More full-bodied and generous than the Vignes de Berges, but less on the knife’s edge.”
