This wine really is the “The Dog’s”… A cracking red from the Languedoc-Roussillon, in southern France. From some of the finest vineyards in the Roussillon, this fruity red wine is created from a field blend of native varietals, usually comprising Carignan, Caladoc and Mersellan or Grenache Noir. The soils are composed of clay and silt. It is a deep cherry red with burgundy highlights. Slightly smoky on the nose, blackberry flavours and a hint of garrigue – this wine has a vibrant colour, lovely tannins and fresh acidity. Cranberry, strawberry and raspberry are evident as well as subtle notes of floral notes such as rose petal and violets. It has excellent length and tannins. Eat with rack of lamb, pork or chicken.
