Description
Knightor Winery outside St Austell makes premium quality, limited production wines from grapes grown in English vineyards and their own vines at Portscatho and Seaton on the south Cornish coast. They planted their first vines in 2007 and made their first wine in 2010.
This is the first time since 2016 that Knightor has been able to make this wine. Its aromatic blend of Siegerrebe, Schönburger and Müller-Thurgau. The grapes were fermented cool separately in stainless steel tanks to retain the natural fruit aromas and flavours. The wines were left to age on lees for 5 months before a blend was decided upon. This was then bottled mid April. Serve at 10-12C.
Named for Elizabeth Trevannion owner of Knightor and Gorran Castle in the late 16th century. Her husband wrote ‘I married a gentlewoman more for her worth than her wealth’.
