Viña La Ronciere was founded in 1949, but only much later in 2017 did they start their venture at Idahue Estate. This project pioneered grape growing in cooler Licantén, a cool coastal sub-region of Curico Valley. This is savoury Malbec made from slow-ripening grapes, intense and concentrated, yet refreshing. Its dark, savoury fruit is complex with hints of leather and spice. The palate is silky and refined, displaying lovely rich fruit with a liquid core and a mineral, graphite undertone. It has firm, ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a graceful, long finish, enhanced by judicious ageing in high quality French oak barrels. The winery is certified by the Wines of Chile Sustainability Code, which means that they are committed to implement long-term initiatives to guarantee a sustainable development.
